Directions to Henbury:

PLEASE NOTE:

1. IF USING SATNAV, OR GOOGLE MAPS, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE SELECTED DARK LANE, HENBURY SK11 9PE AS THERE IS ALSO A DARK LANE IN GAWSWORTH ABOUT 3 MILES AWAY.

2. A PARKING SPACE WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE DRIVE. HOWEVER, DARK LANE IS VERY NARROW AND THERE IS NO ON ROAD PARKING, SO IF YOU NEED TO BRING MORE THAN ONE CAR, PLEASE INFORM ME IN ADVANCE, SO THAT I CAN CHECK WHETHER I CAN ACCOMMODATE ANOTHER CAR ON THE DRIVE. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON ANY DRIVE OTHER THAN MINE.

3. WHEN LEAVING, YOU MAY NEED TO GO OUT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM WHICH YOU CAME, AS TURNING OUT OF THE DRIVE TO THE RIGHT IS DIFFICULT EXCEPT IN SMALL CARS. CARE IS REQUIRED WHEN LEAVING THE DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE NARROWNESS OF THE LANE AND THE STONE WALL OPPOSITE.

From Wilmslow

From the end of the Wilmslow Bypass (Whitehall Bridge Roundabout) continue straight on to the Alderley Edge Bypass (signed Congleton A34, Macclesfield). After 3 miles, at the Nether Alderley Roundabout, continue straight on towards Congleton. At the third traffic lights, at Monks Heath Crossroads (just beyond the "Bengal Tiger Lily" restaurant) turn left onto the A537 towards Macclesfield. A quarter of a mile beyond the traffic lights, you will go through a number of bends. At the end of the bends there is a straight stretch of road which rises gently. 0.7 miles from the end of the bends turn left into Rough Heyes Lane (there is no name plate for this road) just beyond two road signs on the left showing “Farm Vehicles” and “Blind summit”. This is the second turning, don’t turn into the first, which is Whirley Lane. After less than 100 metres turn sharp right into Dark Lane, which is very narrow. Old Chapter is 250 metres down and is the first house on the left, but please note that it is not the first drive. The drive just before my garage gives access to my neighbours’ house.

From Macclesfield

Take the A537 from Broken Cross towards Knutsford. 0.6 miles from Broken Cross, (immediately before the 40 mph sign) fork right into Church Lane towards Henbury. Go through the village and take the second left into Dark Lane. Old Chapter is 300 metres from the turning on your right and is the last of three terraced cottages.

From Knutsford

Take the A 537 towards Macclesfield and Chelford. Approximately 4 miles after leaving Knutsford, go straight on at the Chelford roundabout (Shell garage on left). At the second traffic lights, at Monks Heath Crossroads (BP garage on left), go straight on towards Macclesfield. A quarter of a mile beyond the traffic lights, you will go through a number of bends. At the end of the bends there is a straight stretch of road which rises gently. 0.7 miles from the end of the bends turn left into Rough Heyes Lane (there is no name plate for this road) just beyond two road signs on the left showing “Farm Vehicles” and “Blind summit”).

From Congleton

At the end of the bends there is a straight stretch of road which rises gently. 0.7 miles from the end of the bends turn left into Rough Heyes Lane (there is no name plate for this road) just beyond two road signs on the left showing “Farm Vehicles” and “Blind summit”).
